Senior Physical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Physical Design Engineer to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing complex digital circuits, as well as providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Fundamental Responsibilities:

  • Floor Planning and Partitioning: Develop top-level floor plans, partition designs, and optimize scan-chain-reordering, clock tree synthesis, timing optimization, SI aware routing, and timing analysis/closure.
  • Low Power Design: Implement advanced low power techniques such as Voltage Islands, Power Gating, and substrate-bias in 65nm or lower node designs.
  • Technical Guidance and Mentoring: Provide expert technical guidance and mentoring to Physical Design Engineers.
  • Front-end Interface: Collaborate with front-end ASIC teams to resolve design issues.
  • Timing Closure: Achieve timing closure on DDR2/DDR3/PCIE interfaces.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-12 years in ASIC Physical Design.
  • Tools: Expertise in Cadence, Synopsys, or Magma physical Design Tools.
  • Scripting Languages: Strong knowledge of PERL and TCL scripting languages.
  • Physical Verification: Strong Physical Verification skill set.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Essential Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASIC Physical Design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
