
Medical Operations Lead

The role of the Unit Medical Services Head is to provide strategic direction and oversight for the clinical operation of medical departments and services.
Key Responsibilities:- The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all medical care provided at the unit, ensuring the quality of clinical services rendered.
- They will also ensure statutory compliance with regards to MTP, PCPNDT, AERB, Radiation Safety etc.
- Analysis of department mix and need for consultants will be a key aspect of this role.
- Participation in tariff revision and clinical compensation patterns is essential.
- Performance analysis of retainers will also be a responsibility.
- The selected individual will be tasked with monitoring and rationalizing doctor costs.
- Rationalization of surgical and medical charges will also be required.
- This role involves being responsible for clinician/clinical related quality monitoring/accreditation/quality assurance services.
- Coordination and conduct of medical Advisory Board, Clinical HOD Committee, departmental meetings will be necessary.
- Participation and contribution to Infection Control Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, Ethics Committee, Blood transfusion Committee, CPR analysis Committee will also be required.
- Overseeing reporting and communication of quality improvement initiatives, quality, and patient safety awareness, safety culture survey administration, and recognition programs is crucial.
- Addressing consultant requirements and recruitment of consultants will also be a responsibility.
- The selected individual will be involved in induction, on-boarding, credentialing, and privileging, formulating contracts with inputs from Hospital Director for new consultants.
- Training and re-privileging and monitoring performance and appraisal of consultants, maintaining personnel files with documents will also be required.
- Addressing clinical patient concerns/complaints/potential medico-legal complaints in coordination with treating doctors is essential.
- Review, peer-review, and formulate draft replies for medico-legal cases with inputs from treating teams will also be necessary.
- Maintaining medicolegal trackers and follow up on active cases will be a responsibility.
- Conducting morality/mortality meetings periodically and reviewing cases will also be required.
- Auditing clinical billing codes will be necessary.
- Providing clinical input to Unit Heads whenever required for medico-legal cases received will also be a responsibility.
- Engaging with teams through training, performance management, continual feedback, coaching, and reward and recognize people to motivate them to deliver desired results will be essential.
- Recommending junior clinical manpower for effective functioning of clinical departments will also be required.
- Evaluating and initiating academic activities and programs like DNB/FNB/Fellowship/Training and Certification Courses will be necessary.
- Ensuring training of doctors on patient safety, service excellence initiatives, and healthcare communication will also be a responsibility.
- Preparing biomedical equipment capital expenditure budgets based on inputs from clinicians and biomedical departments will be necessary.
- Oversight of medical records departments and initiating digitization, electronic records where feasible will also be required.
- Conducting awareness programs, campaigns, and drives for dissemination of service excellence initiatives, patient experience videos, effective communication strategies will be essential.
