Energy Storage Specialist Position

The ideal candidate for this energy storage engineer role will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hold a degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field. The job involves designing electrical systems, project management, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Designing battery-based energy storage systems and knowledge on power conversion systems (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) designs.
  2. Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulations in the USA.
  3. Reviewing technical documents and installations to determine compliance as part of due diligence and owner's engineer experience.
  4. Knowledge of current battery technologies and their parameters.
  5. Developing factory acceptance testing (FAT) and integration test plans for BESS systems. Technical review of vendor-provided documents.
  6. Managing bids and projects throughout their life cycle.
  7. Performing electrical testing using personal protective equipment (PPE) and procedures.
  8. Attending training sessions on equipment provided by manufacturers and approved by managers.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in BESS.
  2. A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant engineering field. Candidates with Ph.D.s in similar fields are also welcome.
  3. Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  4. Experience in electrical design and training in BESS for at least three years.
  5. Strong organizational, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills.
  6. Competent skills using Microsoft office software such as Outlook, Excel, Word.
  7. Experience in client management, team management, and process management.
  8. Knowledge of other electrical and PV software is an added advantage.
