Senior Quality Assurance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist position. The ideal candidate should have expertise in manual and automation testing, as well as the ability to build scalable automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin) for efficient test execution.
  • Perform thorough manual and automated testing across web, API, and integration layers to ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Implement and maintain Page Object Model (POM) for scalable and maintainable automation, handling dynamic elements and reusable components effectively.
Required Skills & ExpertiseCore QA Automation Skills
  • Selenium WebDriver: Advanced knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, and synchronization issues resolution.
  • BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin): Proficient in writing business-readable feature files and mapping steps correctly for reusability and modularity.
  • Java or Framework Language: Strong understanding of OOP concepts, clean code practices, SOLID principles, exception handling, and custom exception creation.
Framework & Layer-Specific Skills
  • Step Definitions: Design high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic, ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Page Object Model (POM): Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory, writing maintainable locators, and encapsulating UI interactions.
  • Core Framework (Wrappers, Waiters, Driver handling): Build wrapper methods around Selenium APIs, implement custom waits, retry mechanisms, and driver utilities, and extend WebDriver with custom elements where needed.
Additional Skills
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, UAT).
  • Experience in API testing using Postman/RestAssured.
  • Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
