Senior Software Test Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing software designs for the development of software products, reading and interpreting architecture and design diagrams, and mentoring and coaching others on technical aspects.
Background & SkillsWe are seeking a highly skilled professional with 4 to 8 years of experience in verification/validation testing of industrial communication protocols, including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, BACnet/IP, MODBUS TCP, POWERLINK, PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet, CANopen, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU, Metasys N2, LonWorks, AK-LonWorks, AS-i Bus, Interbus, PROFISafe, OPC DA, and OPC UA. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing product verification/validation test plans, test scenarios, and test cases, as well as excellent analytical skills and the ability to apply knowledge to solve practical problems.
The successful candidate will also have experience in using protocol testing/analyzer tools, such as Wireshark, Modscan, Modbus Conformance Tool, and Profibus Analyzer, and will have a strong knowledge of Industrial Communication Protocol standards, including ODVA, OPC, EPSG, and ProfiDrive. Additionally, the candidate will have experience in using defect management tools and defect management, as well as in-depth knowledge of Fieldbus communication protocols and strong knowledge about Industrial Automation Customer Applications.
The ideal candidate will also have strong knowledge of PLC, DCS Hardware and Software, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, BECKHOFF, B&R, ABB, Schneider, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Foxboro, and Wago, as well as in-depth knowledge and experience in IEC 61131 PLC Programming Languages. Furthermore, the candidate will have strong knowledge about Variable Frequency Drives and its applications, as well as strong understanding of software product development life cycle and software testing life cycle.

Nice to Have CompetenciesThe ideal candidate will have experience in automation testing using National Instruments Software/Hardware products or any other test automation software, ability to deliver the test automation needs in embedded product development environment, experience in designing automation test framework and implementing it, experience in executing the automation test suites created using the automation test tools, experience in Software Development using Agile Scrum methodology, experience in Python programming language, experience in Robot Framework, and experience in using Rational Clear Quest, Rational Clear Case.
