Synthetic Chemist

About the Position: We are seeking a skilled Chemical Synthesis Expert to join our team of talented scientists dedicated to discovering and developing novel therapeutics, diagnostics, and devices for diseases with a high socio-economic impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute efficient synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programs.
• Track SAR and optimize potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research projects.
• Perform purification and structural characterization of compounds using advanced chromatography and spectroscopic analysis techniques.
• Troubleshoot synthetic problems and optimize reaction conditions to improve yields and product quality.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and contribute to technical reports that document experiments and results.
• Collaborate with analytical teams as needed to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide input on intellectual property activities related to compound development.

Technical Requirements:

• Expertise in multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation.
• Proficiency in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation).
• Demonstrated excellence in organic synthesis, conversant with current literature and trends.
• Familiarity with reaction databases (e.g., Reaxys, SciFinder).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• PhD in Organic Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry highly desirable.
• 0-4 years of hands-on experience in working on bench, preferably in an industry.
