Job Title: Pre-Clinical Pathology Lab Executive

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pre-Clinical Pathology Lab Executive to join our team. As a key member of our pathology department, you will be responsible for planning and executing blood collection from laboratory animals, monitoring anesthesia and euthanasia, and conducting necropsy examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute blood collection from various laboratory animals
  • Monitor anesthesia/euthanasia of laboratory animals
  • Plan for necropsy examination
  • Prepare and conduct necropsy examination of laboratory animals
  • Conduct and monitor tissue trimming, processing, block making, sectioning, slide staining of various studies
  • Histopathological slide reading for toxicity and efficacy studies
  • Responsible for monitoring histopathological slide preparation
  • Slide reading and histopathological report preparation of various pre-clinical studies as a study pathologist
  • Conduct and monitor various clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation parameters & urine analysis
  • Monitoring microscopic evaluation of urine samples
  • Implementation and maintenance of high standard quality control check external as well as internal for in-house biochemical analysis
  • Preparing SOPs related to pathology area
  • Control and supervise the maintenance and operation of various histopathology related instruments
  • Review of various in-house test results
  • Involvement in planning and execution of pharmacological evaluation projects

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Availability of required chemicals and other materials/facility for projects
  • RQA comments on SOPs, protocols, reports, and study audits
  • Planning and execution of health monitoring of animal and employee
  • Collection of samples, analysis/dispatch of samples for various analyses
  • Preparation and execution of calibration schedule for pathology related equipment
  • Preparation and execution of preventive maintenance schedules for pathology lab related equipment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pre-clinical pathology
  • Strong knowledge of histopathology, toxicology, and pharmacology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
