Infrastructure Engineer Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply Agile and Lean methodologies to manage projects and deliverables.
  • Document knowledge and create RFCs for team reference.

Required Skills

  • Experience with managing large-scale infrastructure systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Good understanding of software delivery principles.
  • Technical agility: ability to adapt to different roles and technologies when needed.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Linux and software-defined networking.
  • Configuration management using tools like Ansible and Chef.
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts.
  • Tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or FluxCD.
  • Cloud-Native ecosystem and tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Envoy.
  • Containers & container orchestrators like Nomad, Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
  • Familiarity with primary cloud providers like GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Observability and collaboration with dev teams to improve their observability systems.
  • Distributed systems and basic cloud security.
