Software Developer - Performance Optimizer

   As a key member of our Developer Enablement team, you will focus on designing and developing automated solutions that enhance developer productivity. We are looking for a skilled software developer to work on performance optimization and scalability, ensuring the stability and efficiency of our development environments.

   Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and improve the usage of development environments to ensure they meet the evolving needs of our developers.
  • Design and develop tools to measure operational performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize local development environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate configuration processes and improve developer experience.
  • Profile and tune performance of development environments, making changes to the codebase as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices for developer efficiency and contribute to Okta's development process improvements.

   Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of industry experience in developing, debugging, profiling, and performance tuning in Java, Spring, and Tomcat.
  • Proficiency in build tools like Maven, Gradle, Bazel, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes ECS.
  • Experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GIT and CI/CD pipelines is required.
  • Able to collaborate effectively across engineering teams and adapt quickly to new technologies.
