The Role

As a Software Engineer 2, you will be responsible for writing clean and correct code, following established best practices, and minimizing the occurrence of repetitive mistakes.

You will participate in technical design decisions, focusing on attaining expertise in one or more areas of the codebase. You will be self-sufficient in at least one area, with a high-level understanding of other components. Additionally, you will provide support for your area, including components you may not be familiar with.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in technical design decisions
  • Attaining expertise in one or more areas of the codebase
  • Providing support for your area
  • Communicating assumptions and getting clarification on tasks to minimize rework

Skills Requirements

A bachelor's degree is preferred. You should have 3-5 years of Java/J2EE development experience. Strong Java/J2EE object-oriented design and development skills are required. A solid understanding of Web Standards (XML, Web Services (WS*, REST) is also necessary. SQL proficiency, preferably with MySQL experience, is expected. Familiarity with JSP and experience in front-end technologies like Angular, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript are highly valued. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, adaptability, proactivity, and willingness to take ownership are essential. A strong commitment to quality, architecture, and documentation is also required. Experience with Agile methodologies or related iterative development processes is a plus. Demonstrated use and knowledge of design patterns are also desirable.
