Legacy Applications Technical Lead

Job Description

The position of Legacy Applications Technical Lead involves leading the modernization and decoupling of legacy enterprise portals and web applications.

This requires technical expertise in IBM WebSphere Portal Server, JBoss Application Server, and Struts Framework.

The successful candidate will lead clean separation of functionality, security, and user experience across business entities.

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development and platform support.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Portal Server.
  • Strong experience with JBoss Application Server and Struts Framework.
  • Proven leadership in managing full-stack teams and delivering legacy modernization or platform decoupling initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical planning, design, and execution of WebSphere Portal and JBoss-based application separation activities.
  • Refactor and migrate Struts-based web applications ensuring compatibility and scalability in new deployment environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to transition workloads from shared to entity-specific hosting.
  • Manage deployment and configuration of WebSphere and JBoss across multiple environments.
  • Troubleshoot performance and integration issues, and provide hands-on support in resolving production incidents.
  • Ensure secure, role-based access control, data partitioning, and user experience continuity during and after separation.
  • Guide offshore/onshore development teams and enforce coding and platform standards.
