Telecommunications Design Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and publication of telecommunications designs to support projects. This includes detailed designs related to ICT & Telecommunications Systems, Structured Cabling Systems (SCS), Communications Rooms and supporting systems, Outside Plant Infrastructure (OSP), Active ICT Networks, Wireless LAN and Wi-Fi modelling, RF Systems, Technology platforms and systems.

  • Design and publish telecommunications solutions
  • Detailed designs relating to ICT & Telecommunications Systems
  • Development of Structured Cabling Systems (SCS)
  • Communications Rooms and supporting systems design
  • Outside Plant Infrastructure (OSP) implementation
  • Active ICT Networks management
  • Wireless LAN and Wi-Fi modelling
  • RF Systems design
  • Technology platforms and systems integration

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mentoring and be well-versed in ICT and Telecommunications design using standards such as BICSI, ISO, IEEE, Certified Wireless Network Professional Design Guidelines, Cisco & Aruba networking and wireless design guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of reports, specifications, calculations, and drawings
  • Liaising with other engineers, vendors, and contractors
  • Mentoring junior and graduate engineers
  • Working within a multi-discipline design team

Requirements:

  • Master of Engineering or Master of Science in an electronic, computer systems, or telecommunications course of study
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Experience in mentoring and vendor certifications
  • Knowledge of Network design principles and significant experience working within critical environments
