Lead a Biofuel Facility as Chief Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead the engineering, commissioning, and operations of our biofuel facility.

  • This role involves overseeing the end-to-end commissioning process, ensuring safety, reliability, and top-quartile performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Setup: Lead the installation and start-up of all systems, including utilities readiness, pre-start checks, and stabilization.
  • Technology Verification: Evaluate and validate process technologies and vendors, including pilot data review, PFD/P&ID checks, HAZOP actions, FAT/SAT, performance guarantees, energy/mass balance, and lifecycle OPEX.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee daily plant setup and operations to achieve targets, including throughput, yield, methane purity, and uptime.
  • Optimize digestion, gas cleanup/upgrading, compression, storage/dispensing, and utilities to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement preventive/predictive maintenance, run RCAs, and drive reliability to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage EPCs and contractors, control scope, change, and debottlenecking projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Ensure EHS & statutory compliance, own SOPs, PTW, emergency response, and audit readiness to protect people, assets, and the environment.
  • Mentor and build a high-performing Operations & Maintenance team, including shift engineers, mech/E&I, utilities, and QC.
  • Own DCS/SCADA KPIs and MIS reporting, drive data-led improvements, and cost control to optimize business outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Must-Have:
    • Extensive experience leading plant setup/commissioning and operations in biofuel/biogas/CBG or closely related continuous-process industries.
    • Proven technology evaluation/verification experience (vendor due diligence, guarantees, trials, acceptance testing).
    • Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical & instrumentation (compressors, blowers, agitators, PSA/membrane, analyzers, HT/LT).
    • Solid command of EHS, environmental norms, and compliance.
    • Demonstrated team leadership, stakeholder management, and crisp communication.
    • Bachelor's in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering (or related).
  • Good-to-Have:
    • Master's degree; PMP/PRINCE2; RCM/FMEA experience; energy management and cost optimization track record.
