Senior Software Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, chaos engineering, and multi-cloud environments.

• Maintaining and enhancing Terraform scripts for various tools is a key responsibility. This includes working directly with the phData Provision Tool and related infrastructure tooling.
• The successful candidate will automate environment setup, deployments, and key rotation practices to ensure seamless operations.
• Collaboration with STL and Senior Engineer to handle AWS IAM, RSA key management, and 1Password Vault usage is essential.
• The role requires understanding customer requirements, solutions, and project KPIs to implement development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
• The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.
• Review, verification, and validation of software code developed in the project are crucial.
• Troubleshooting techniques and coordination of bug fixes with developers are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring processes during the entire lifecycle for adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement is vital.
• Planning and building automated processes where possible is a key aspect of the role.
• Selecting and deploying CI/CD tools and pipelines is another essential task.
• The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will build continuous integration, development, and deployment pipelines for various technologies and platforms.
• Mentoring team members on DevOps collaboration is also a requirement.
• Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs is essential.
• Planning team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities is necessary.
• Coordination and communication within the team and with customers is vital.
• Managing stakeholders and external interfaces is also required.
• Reporting progress to management and customers is crucial.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering is mandatory.
• Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing is highly desirable.
• Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid environments is essential.
• Ability to write clear runbooks and do postmortems is necessary.
• Exposure to Snowflake, FiveTran, DBT Cloud is a plus.
• Exposure to data-intensive or distributed systems (Kafka, Cassandra) is also desirable.
• Contributions to improving SRE practices (e.g., error budgets, blameless postmortems) are highly valued.
• Experience with AWS is essential.
• Experience with containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm is highly desirable.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation is necessary.
• Strong Linux background is a must.
• Thorough knowledge in DevOps practices and concepts is essential.
• Hands-on skills in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD is a plus.
• Experience with configuration automation tools such as Ansible is also desirable.
• Experience in cloud native tools and technologies including Docker and Kubernetes is essential.
• Experience in test automation tools and mechanisms such as JMeter, Newman is highly desirable.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform is necessary.
• Experience with application monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch/Kibana, Prometheus is also desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in at least one development language (Java or .NET) is a must.
• Scripting knowledge in Python/shell etc. with experience on Linux/Windows is essential.
