Software Development Expert

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Expert to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java, Springboot, and Javascript, as well as experience working with cloud-based technologies and Agile methodologies. You will be responsible for migrating legacy UI systems to our new microservice architecture, upgrading legacy Java applications to Springboot applications, and testing, documenting, and quality-proofing work to ensure software meets business and operational needs.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with Java and related frameworks such as Spring/Springboot
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with Javascript and related frameworks (including old frameworks like Backbone.js/Marionette.js, JQuery)
  • Experience with CI/CD practices, build and deployment technologies (e.g. Maven, Jenkins, Docker)
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Experience working in production with AWS Cloud infrastructure (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Elastic Search)
  • Understanding of security concepts and vulnerability management
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills - pragmatic and able to build trust
About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to join a high-impact migration project modernizing our legacy platform. The primary focus will be on migrating our legacy UI to Spring Boot microservices and hosting UI pages on AWS, while also driving code refactoring, upgrades, security and resilience improvements, monitoring, and other operational enhancements.
