The Middle School Coordinator drives academic excellence by ensuring effective lesson planning and teaching quality. The coordinator oversees lessons, provides feedback and recommendations for improvement, and offers coaching and mentoring to teachers.
- Lesson Planning Oversight:
- Review and monitor lesson plans from all teachers to ensure alignment with curriculum standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement in a timely manner.
- Teacher Support & Training:
- Offer ongoing coaching and mentoring to enhance lesson planning and instructional delivery.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to reinforce modern teaching methods.
- Classroom Observations:
- Create and maintain an observation schedule covering all teachers, multiple times throughout the year.
- Conduct formal and informal classroom observations to evaluate teaching effectiveness.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare monthly academic performance reports for school leaders.
- Maintain open communication with leadership to address challenges and track progress.
- Academic Quality Assurance:
- Ensure consistent implementation of teaching and learning strategies.
- Identify professional development needs based on observation data and lesson plan reviews.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of pedagogical practices and curriculum design.
- Excellent observation, feedback, and coaching skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate teachers with varied levels of openness to change.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education or related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years in an instructional leadership role.
- Proven ability to integrate technology seamlessly into academic planning and instruction.
