Senior Software Architect, Automotive Infotainment

About the Role
This is a key position within the System Engineering team at HARMAN, focusing on the Ready Upgrade product. As a system engineer, you will contribute to improving product performance, identifying and resolving defects, driving design decisions, conducting code reviews, instrumenting vehicles, designing demonstrators, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Become a subject matter expert in flashing and recovering modules, building and modifying demonstrator setups, and outfitting vehicles with Ready Upgrade hardware.
- Develop, architect, and validate technical solutions across various automotive infotainment topics, including analytics, diagnostics, industrialization, software update, and more.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and UX/UI designers, to ensure seamless integration of features and customization into the overall Cockpit system.
- Participate in issue triage, live debugging, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in audio technologies, Android development, and cockpit systems to propose innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Perform technical coordination, problem triage, and solution.
- Participate in feature enablement workshops for different customers and reference products.
- Monitor and improve KPIs.
- Work closely with build and integration experts to resolve build-time software issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of automotive experience, with experience in automotive infotainment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently interact and present information to project managers and senior leaders.
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Able to use soldering irons, wire cutters, hand tools, etc.
- Experience with Linux, Android, and/or QNX, and ability to use command-line interfaces.
- Software development experience, with experience and comfort using Java, C++, or Kotlin.
- Experience working with automotive electronics, wire harnesses, tools, etc.
- Experience working with CAN bus.
- Experience reviewing logs, evaluating code changes, and identifying compile-time problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing with the Android SDK.
- Experience working with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, serial interfaces, etc.
- Experience with program management tools like IBM ALM, Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.
- Experience developing services, drivers, and kernel modules.
- Experience working with automotive cybersecurity and functional safety.
- Agile experience.
