About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a prestigious centre of excellence in financial markets research and education. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in academic and research institutions, regulatory bodies, or financial services companies.

Job Purpose

The Programme Director will be responsible for formulating and executing the long-term vision and strategy of the centre. This includes developing programmes and initiatives aligned with the centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.

  • Strategic Leadership:
  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the centre.
  2. Create innovative programmes and initiatives that advance the centre's mission.
  • Education and Research Program Management:
  1. Provide administrative support for research projects, publications, and educational activities.
  2. Coordinate faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
  3. Organize training programmes, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
  • Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. B Foster partnerships with financial institutions, statutory bodies, regulatory institutions, industry associations, and other organizations.
  2. Host seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts.
  • Operational Oversight:
  1. Manage day-to-day administration of the centre including budgeting, reporting, and resource planning.
  2. Supervise support staff, interns, and research associates.
  • Communication and Outreach:
  1. Ensure the centre's visibility through online and offline channels.
  2. Represent the centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.
Desired Profile

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual who possesses:

  • A Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, regulatory institutions, financial services companies, industry associations, or other relevant organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience with academic institutions or research centres.
  • Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement.
