Advanced IAM Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) specialist to join our team. As an IAM specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust identity services that enhance user experience while adhering to the highest security standards.

Your primary focus will be on implementing and managing identity and access management solutions with Auth0, ensuring secure and scalable authentication and authorization for our applications and APIs.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, other developers, DevOps, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of authentication and authorization into new and existing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Auth0 Implementation & Configuration :
  • Design, implement, and configure Auth0 tenants, applications, APIs, and connections.
  • Set up and manage various authentication methods, enterprise identity providers (OIDC, SAML), and passwordless authentication.
  • Develop and manage custom Auth0 Rules, Actions, and Hooks to tailor authentication and authorization flows to specific business requirements.
  • Configure and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and other advanced security features.
  • Manage user stores, including database connections and user migration strategies.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) :
  • Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and attribute-based access control (ABAC) using Auth0's authorization features.
  • Define and manage user roles and permissions within Auth0 and integrate with application-level authorization.
  • Develop and implement strategies for Single Sign-On (SSO) across multiple applications.
• Integration & Development :
  • Integrate Auth0 with various web, mobile, and backend applications using Auth0 SDKs and APIs (e.g., Auth0.js, Auth0-react, Node.js, .NET, Java, etc.).
  • Work with development teams to ensure proper integration of authentication and authorization into new and existing applications.
  • Develop and maintain secure API endpoints that leverage Auth0 for authorization.
  • Automate identity-related processes using Auth0 Management API and other tools.
• Security & Best Practices & Troubleshooting :
  • Stay up to date with the latest security vulnerabilities and best practices in the identity and access management space.
  • Monitor and respond to security threats and incidents related to identity.
  • Provide expert-level support for production issues related to authentication and authorization.
  • Troubleshoot complex cross-system problems involving Auth0 and integrated applications.
  • Create and maintain documentation for Auth0 configurations, integrations, and best practices.
• Mentorship :
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, other developers, DevOps, and security teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on Auth0 and IAM best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), Master of Computer applications
• 5-8 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Expert-level experience with Auth0 : tenant design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in at least one or more programming languages, such as JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Java.
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT, ForegeRock
• Experience with API security and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
