Job Overview

We seek a dynamic social media expert to lead our engagement strategies across platforms.

The social media specialist will be responsible for enhancing our presence on various social media platforms, driving engagement, and growing our online audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the editorial goals.
  • Curate, create, and schedule engaging content across all social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to repurpose and promote news articles, opinion pieces, interviews, features, and multimedia content.
Audience Engagement:
  • Monitor social media channels for trending topics, breaking news, and reader engagement.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster a community around our social media presence.
Analytics & Reporting:
  • Track and analyze key social media metrics, including engagement rates, follower growth, and traffic to the website.
  • Prepare regular reports on social media performance and provide actionable insights to the editorial team.
  • Use data-driven approaches to optimize content and posting strategies.
Brand Voice & Compliance:
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social media platforms.
  • Ensure all content is in compliance with journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest social media policies and platform changes.
Collaboration & Innovation:
  • Work closely with the design and video teams to produce high-quality visuals and multimedia content for social media.
  • Explore and implement new tools and technologies to enhance our social media presence.
  • Lead social media campaigns around special events, regional features, youth initiatives, interviews, or innovations.

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field is required. 3-5 years of experience in social media management is preferred. Strong writing and editing skills are necessary.
