Job Description

Praan, a deep-tech startup, is leading the charge in democratizing clean air through innovative filterless technology. Our team is dedicated to crafting cutting-edge solutions that address large global problems with accelerated speed and precision.

The role involves overseeing the complete development lifecycle of embedded products from concept to manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and firmware components. This includes writing code and developing firmware from scratch as necessary to meet project requirements, guaranteeing optimal performance and functionality.

You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure cohesive hardware design and firmware integration. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing, simulating, manufacturing, testing, and debugging custom electronic hardware boards and sensor-based systems built on the ARM platform.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing application frameworks and system services for new embedded platforms
  • Developing and maintaining Cellular/WiFi systems with MQTT broking for robust communication
  • Enforcing high standards of quality over the code base and application performance, conducting stress testing and designing firmware edge cases
  • Collaborating with mechanical design, simulation, software, and product design teams for electronic hardware and harness integration
  • Engaging with the business team for product feature changes and B2B customer teams globally to ensure product alignment with market needs

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, with 4+ years of experience in Embedded Systems and Hardware Design. Exceptional hands-on skills with testing equipment such as Multimeters, Scopes, DCAs, Logic Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers are essential. Experience working with expensive, high-resolution sensors and manufacturing/embedded hardware products is also desired.

We seek a motivated individual who can effectively collaborate within a team, with excellent communication skills and a proven ability in debugging and fault finding within embedded systems. Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) is an added advantage.
