AI Research Director

Seeking a visionary and technically strong AI leader to lead a team focused on advancing Generative AI for NLP and Vision.
Roles Responsibilities- Define and drive the vision and roadmap for Generative AI research and applications in NLP and image domains.
- Identify strategic opportunities for applying GenAI to domains such as engineering, mobility, manufacturing, automated document understanding, and visual AI agents.
- Collaborate with a global research network and business units to align activities with long-term innovation and product goals.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing interdisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and architects.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.
- Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and career growth.
- Guide research in large language models (LLMs), multi-modal foundation models (VLMs), image generation, and document analysis.
- Architect hybrid systems using LLMs, symbolic reasoning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
- Partner with product, engineering, UX, and domain teams to deliver scalable AI features.
- Engage with external academic and industry research communities, including publishing at top-tier AI conferences.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory requirements:
- Expertise in Generative AI across text and vision modalities.
- Proficiency in ML frameworks, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Autogen.
- Strong knowledge of NLP pipelines, document classification, QnA, summarization.
