Research and Development Manager Job Description

As a Research and Development Manager, you will lead the development of innovative construction chemicals and drive business growth through strategic product development. Your expertise in formulation, application, and testing of construction chemicals will be crucial in creating products that meet customer needs and exceed expectations.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of scientists and lab technicians. They will be responsible for formulating new products, evaluating their performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

You will work closely with marketing and technical teams to develop products that meet customer demand and drive business growth. Additionally, you will collaborate with raw material suppliers to discuss technical specifications, validate products, and explore alternative sourcing options.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, applicators, and project teams. You will provide on-site technical support, training, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless product delivery.

  • Familiarity with chemical testing instruments (e.g., rheometers, viscometers, FTIR, SEM)
  • Deep understanding of performance standards and industry trends
  • Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sustainable and cost-effective formulations
  • Evaluate and optimize product performance through pilot plant trials and lab testing
  • Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to develop products that meet customer demand
  • Ensure compliance with BIS, ASTM, EN, ISO, and environmental regulations
  • Mentor and manage a team of scientists and lab technicians
  • Provide on-site technical support, training, and troubleshooting
