Lead Pharmacy Manager Position Overview:

A career opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a dynamic pharmacy department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality pharmacy services while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

  • Pharmacy Operations Management: You will oversee the management of pharmacy operations, including prescription dispensing, medication inventory control, compounding, and medication therapy management services. This involves implementing processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications, managing staff resources effectively, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Staff Supervision and Training: You will supervise and train a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional patient care. This includes providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth and development.
  • Medication Safety and Quality Assurance: You will develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize the risk of medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions. This may involve monitoring for drug recalls or shortages, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy.
  • Regulatory Compliance: You will ensure that pharmacy operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards and professional guidelines. This includes maintaining accurate records, adhering to controlled substance regulations, and participating in regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Pharmaceutical Procurement and Inventory Control: You will be responsible for managing medication procurement, inventory control, and distribution processes. This involves optimizing inventory turnover, managing relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers and wholesalers, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
  • Patient Counseling and Education: You will provide education and counseling to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication use, potential side effects, and proper administration techniques. This includes explaining medication instructions and optimizing medication therapy to ensure safe and effective use of medications.
