Lead Azure Data Engineer Job

This is a highly sought-after role for a skilled Lead Azure Data Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines using Azure and Databricks.

  • Responsibilities include hands-on work with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) for CI/CD and environment management, building and managing scalable ELT/ETL workflows with Databricks, Delta Lake, ADF, and other Azure services, as well as continuously adopting and applying new Databricks features to accelerate delivery.

The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Databricks, Azure Data Services, Python, SQL, Spark, and modern data architectures. Additionally, they will possess a track record of efficient delivery and helping teams accelerate execution.

Key qualifications include:

  • 8+ years in Data Engineering with at least 5 years hands-on in Azure & Databricks.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Databricks (Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, Workflows, Databricks Asset Bundles, MLflow basics, unity catalog)
  • Azure Data Services (ADF, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL)
  • Python, SQL, Spark (with proven performance optimization skills)
  • Strong knowledge of modern data architectures (Lakehouse, governance).

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

In addition to the above requirements, preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with AI-driven development tools.
