The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of infrastructure systems, with experience in managing large-scale environments. They should be proficient in at least one programming language and have a good grasp of software delivery principles. The role requires technical agility, enabling the candidate to adapt to different roles and technologies as needed.

Responsibilities include collaborating across teams, leading technical discussions with clients and internal teams, mentoring junior members, and adapting to evolving project needs. Additionally, the candidate will use methodologies like Agile and Lean to manage projects and deliverables.

They must also stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Linux, software-defined networking, and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Chef. Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts is required.

Furthermore, they should be familiar with Cloud-Native ecosystem tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Envoy. In-depth knowledge of containers and container orchestrators like Nomad, Kubernetes, etc., is necessary. A deep understanding of managing and organizing infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK is also required.

Familiarity with at least one primary cloud provider (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure) and observability well are essential. Additionally, they should understand the principles of distributed systems and how SQL and NoSQL databases work, along with what is needed to manage them.
