Summary

The role requires expertise in HL7 standards, interface development, and hands-on experience working with leading engines such as Corepoint, Mirth Connect or Rhapsody. Interfaces will be designed, developed and supported to ensure seamless data exchange between clinical and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface Development
  • Design, develop and implement complex interfaces using specified tools. This includes creating and modifying interfaces to support new clinical workflows and business requirements.
  • Data Integrity and Testing
  • Perform rigorous testing to ensure data integrity, message routing accuracy and system reliability. Collaboration with teams is essential.
  • Performance Monitoring and Support
  • Monitor interface performance and provide timely support for production issues. Troubleshoot errors, message failures and connectivity problems to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
  • Create comprehensive documentation for all interfaces, including design specifications, data maps and operational procedures.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL queries is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are necessary to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to collaborate with staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare integration/interface development.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 standards (v2.x, v3, FHIR, CCD).
  • Experience with various protocols such as SFTP, MLLP and web services (SOAP/REST).
  • Hands-on expertise in at least one interface engine: Corepoint, Rhapsody, or Mirth.
  • Understanding of healthcare workflows, EHR data exchange and interoperability concepts.
  • Exposure to troubleshooting and debugging tools within interface engines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
