The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data mining and engineering principles, with experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions. They will be skilled in working with diverse data sets and leveraging various technologies to drive business outcomes.

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team of technology innovators and entrepreneurs. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing data-driven products and services for our product suite, including data lakehouse, data access APIs, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle
  2. Design and architect future-state solutions
  3. Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical product data models
  4. Assist in process and performance optimization for data access
  5. Database tuning and optimization
  6. Help guide and mentor less experienced software developers
  7. Support and resolve base product defects and incidents in client testing and production environments
Technical Skills and Qualifications
  • AWS
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Apache Kafka
  • PostgreSQL
  • Linux/Ubuntu
  • Extensive professional data product development experience, including design, development, documentation, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience in designing and implementing data products
  • Experience creating secure data solutions including avoidance and mitigation patterns for relevant current and previous OWASP top-10
  • Demonstrable experience in data modeling and tuning SQL query performance
  • Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and efficient data design and access (ORM, JDBC, DAO, SQL)
