Virtual Environment Artist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation of large-scale virtual environments in Unreal Engine.
  • Development of 3D assets, including architecture, props, foliage, lighting, and materials.
  • Integration of CAD/BIM/Revit and IoT data into interactive Unreal environments.
  • Optimization of assets and scenes to meet real-time performance benchmarks.
  • Setting visual standards, providing feedback, and mentoring junior artists.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate technical specifications into compelling visualizations.
  • Definition and improvement of workflows for CAD/BIM data import into Unreal.
  • Maintenance of accuracy and fidelity in alignment with architectural drawings and design intent.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in 3D Art, Architecture, Computer Graphics, Game Design, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in 3D art/environment design, with 3+ years focused on Unreal Engine (architectural visualization/digital twins).
  • Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) for environment creation.
  • Strong 3D modeling & texturing skills (3ds Max, Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop, ZBrush).
  • Proven ability to import/optimize CAD/BIM/Revit files.
  • Lighting, shading, and material creation (PBR workflows).
  • Strong artistic sense of scale, realism, and composition.
  • Deep knowledge of UV mapping, baking, LODs, optimization.
  • Technical Skills:
  • LOD generation & asset optimization for real-time rendering.
  • Familiarity with Blueprints (basic interactivity).
  • VR/AR/MR workflows.
  • Knowledge of GIS, IoT, or real-time data integration within Unreal.
