Wind Energy Land Acquisition Specialist

About the Role

We are a leading renewable energy developer with a portfolio of wind, solar, and hybrid projects across India. Our goal is to build and maintain a sustainable and reliable renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee land acquisition activities for wind projects, ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other approvals.
  • Assess risks in land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Lead legal due diligence (DD) and documentation with internal/external lawyers to ensure clear marketable title of potential lands before acquisition.
  • Participate in drafting, finalizing, and executing Sale/Lease Deeds and such agreements.
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, project management, legal, and finance teams to facilitate seamless land acquisition for wind energy projects.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition and usage across pan-India locations.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful project implementation.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Has significant experience in land acquisition involving revenue/private/forest land, preparing valuation reports for acquisitions, and negotiating to acquire land.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in land procurement/acquisition for wind and/or solar projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with team members, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges in land acquisition and project development.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability principles.
