Lead Backend Developer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to lead our team in designing, developing and maintaining back-end systems.

The successful candidate will have expertise in backend technologies and be able to deliver high-performance and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guide a team of software developers to ensure effectiveness and productivity.
  • Contribute to the design and development of scalable, maintainable and efficient software architecture.
  • Own the product lifecycle from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices including writing comprehensive unit tests.
  • Build reusable code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed and scalability.
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, leadership or management roles.
  • Strong programming foundation in Python including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs with knowledge of frameworks like Django or Flask.
  • Considerable expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development including requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Source Code Repository and experience working with Git.
  • Hands on experience in DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache / Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx or any other web/app server.
  • Experience in containerization tool -Docker.
  • Hands on experience in enterprise level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in writing reusable code and libraries to improve efficiency and consistency across multiple projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
