Cloud Engineer Role Summary

This is a senior-level position for a Cloud Engineer with expertise in cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS services.


Job Description

The successful Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes. They will also develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes. Additionally, they will configure and maintain Istio service mesh for microservices communication, traffic management, and security.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or statistics from a top engineering institution.
  • 12+ years of experience in a similar role with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster setup, configuration, and management.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD or similar.
  • Familiarity with templating using IDPs such as Backstage.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code principles and experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with AWS services, including EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services, including GKE, BigQuery, IAM, Networking, etc.
  • Familiarity with Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Istio or similar service mesh technologies for microservices architecture.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
  • Experience utilizing CNCF tools such as Flux, Argo Rollouts, and External Secrets.
