Job Purpose

The Application Support Engineer will be part of a team supporting digital support DevOps initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality custom web applications on Microsoft technologies for enterprise applications are maintained at the highest level.

This includes alignment with business needs, compliance with industry best practices, and delivering exceptional application experiences.

The team works in a DevOps methodology, and the team's efforts are prioritized and coordinated by the Product Owner/Team Lead/Scrum Master.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and understand requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer support and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze complex technical issues and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Contribute to agile planning activities and backlog prioritization and management.
  • Identify and escalate any application issues or risks to the team and provide suggestions for resolution.
  • Continuously improve development processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness of development activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies, frameworks relating to emerging demands.
  • Drive innovation and adoption of industry practices through investigation and institutionalization of new tools/methods/standards.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and document support processes and solutions.
  • Adapt to new technologies and learn about evolving applications and systems.
  • Create documents and ensure they are reviewed and approved by appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in estimation of User Stories in Story points and commit the efforts required.
  • Develop user stories that cover all acceptance criteria and honor timely deliveries.
  • Understand content management systems like EPiServer/Optimizely.
  • Resolve production incidents or defects as needed and proactively identify potential issues before they appear in the production environment.
  • Drive high performance and accountability for own deliverables.
  • Actively participate and contribute to sprint activities and ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve sprint objectives.
  • Drive continual service improvements.
  • Share knowledge within the organization.
