This is a remote opportunity.

Job Requirements:
  • Develop full stack web applications, covering data tiers, server-side APIs, and front-end.
  • Solve complex problems with minimal guidance and support.
  • Guide project progress using TechDev project and task management systems.
  • Participate in release planning and support project success.
  • Propose architectural directions during project planning.
  • Ensure documentation and communication needs for projects are satisfied.
  • Provide research, prototyping, and product/library exploration as requested.
  • Produce automated testing (unit tests and end-to-end testing) as needed.
  • Monitor project quality and security using static code analysis tools.
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and outages in WLT software.
  • Mentor and guide other developers, perform constructive code reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and directions, and surface recommendations for TechDev processes and projects.
  • Understand and display WLT values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Produce responsive, mobile-first front-ends using modern best practices and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in technologies including .NET, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Svelte, SQL, and non-relational DBs.
  • Pragmatic decision-making.
  • Comfort with implementing and managing packages and libraries to enhance software products.
  • Juggling multiple priorities and responding dynamically to priority changes.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and staying current.
  • Strong time management capability, estimating project scopes accurately, and adhering to timelines.
  • Understanding the Big Picture and an entrepreneurial way of thinking.
  • Detailed knowledge of browser capabilities, technologies, and web design practices.
  • Comfortable architecting and implementing solutions through a team.
  • Understanding the fundamentals of scalable applications.
  • Familiar with design and architectural patterns.
  • Fluent with modern DevOps patterns.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to uphold WLT values.

Requirements and Expectations:

  • 10 years of hands-on experience building dynamic web applications using .NET, C#, JavaScript, CSS, Web APIs.
  • Experience with JavaScript frontend frameworks such as Angular or Svelte.
  • Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working on an agile development team.
  • Good understanding of database tools and techniques for object-to-relational mapping, performance tuning, and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Azure, Entity Framework, and non-relational datastores.
  • Experience integrating off-the-shelf solutions, understanding build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GIT, and Visual Studio for task and source code management, including CI and GIT branching strategies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • Proficient in object-oriented design and development, knowledge of common architectural patterns, SOLID principles, OWASP top ten, and industry-accepted best practices.
  • Experience with education technology and Learning Management Systems (LMSs) a plus.

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or equivalent experience.
