Cloud Infrastructure Operations Senior Engineer Role Overview

The role of a Cloud Infrastructure Operations Senior Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and development of our cloud digital estate.

This team is responsible for guaranteeing continuous uptime, upkeep, and enhancement of cloud infrastructure and platforms. Key areas include automation, problem-solving, and troubleshooting, as well as providing support and guidance to cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on experience with different cloud technologies and platforms, including Azure, essential for this role.
  • Deep understanding of cloud governance, best practices, and policies within Azure.
  • Proven track record in providing technical support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure, including incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing automated solutions.
  • Mentoring and guiding teams and individuals in building out cloud presence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and technologies, such as Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD Pipelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in IT industry.
  • Relevant cloud and/or technology discipline certification, especially AZ-104.
  • Scripting in relevant discipline and/or within Cloud Automation.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining robust disaster recovery strategies.
  • Understanding of applying patches and updates to infrastructure using tools like Ivanti or similar patch management systems.
