Backend Data & Integration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to design, develop, and implement data pipelines, integrate external systems and interfaces, and ensure data quality.

The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience in designing and developing scalable data solutions using API-first approach with playwright/requests where permitted.

  • Design and develop crawling/fetch pipelines using API-first approach with playwright/requests where permitted.
  • Parsing/normalization of job postings and CVs, deduplication/delta logic using seen hash and repost heuristics.
  • Embeddings/similarity search using Azure OpenAI and vector persistence in pgvector.
  • Integrate HR4YOU, SerpAPI, BA job board, email, and SMTP.
  • Implement batch/stream processing using Azure Functions/container jobs, retry/backoff, and dead-letter queues.
  • Telemetry for data quality including freshness, duplicate rate, coverage, and cost per 1,000 items.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • 4+ years of backend/data engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python (FastAPI, pydantic, httpx/requests, Playwright/Selenium) and solid TypeScript for smaller services/SDKs.
  • Azure experience including Functions/Container Apps or AKS jobs, Storage/Blob, Key Vault, Monitor/Log Analytics.
  • Messaging expertise including Service Bus/Queues, idempotence, and exactly-once semantics.
  • Database knowledge including PostgreSQL, pgvector, query design, and performance tuning.
  • Clean ETL/ELT patterns, testability (pytest), and observability (OpenTelemetry).

Nice-to-Have:

  • NLP/IE experience (spaCy/regex/rapidfuzz) and document parsing (pdfminer/textract).
  • Experience with license/ToS-compliant data retrieval and captcha/anti-bot strategies.
  • Working method including API-first, clean code, trunk-based development, and mandatory code reviews.
  • Tools/stack including GitHub, GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, Docker, pnpm/Turborepo (Monorepo), Jira/Linear, Notion/Confluence.
