Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Designer to join our team.

As a Senior Control Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for large energy and M&T projects. This is a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in the industry and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control systems for large energy and M&T projects
  • Develop 3D models and extract instrument, RIO cabinets, and junction box location plan drawings
  • Prepare instrument wiring drawings and loop drawings using SPI wiring and loop generation modules
  • Develop cable block diagrams, cable schedules, cable routing and tray route layouts, JB termination drawings, control and network patch panels drawings
  • Prepare fire and gas layout drawings
  • Develop instrument hook-up drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD and generate hook-up sketches using SPI
  • Prepare tray/trench layouts and cable routing index and MCT layouts
  • Perform 30%, 50%, and 90% model reviews and resolve tags with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to develop a clash-free system design
  • Support I&C commodities in modularized design
  • Prepare control room and electrical substation layout drawings
  • Prepare MTO and develop material requisition of instrumentation for cables, conduits, instrumentation bulks
  • Locate and optimize fan-out cable lengths of remote I/O cabinets, load JB and RIO cabinets, estimate fan-out cable and home-run cable length for FEED estimates

Requirements:

  • Highly proficient in S3D, SPI, SPR, Revit modeling, Navisworks, PDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Bluebeam
  • Thorough knowledge in P&IDs, cable schedules, IO lists, and network architecture
  • Fire and gas layout and interpretation of NFPA 72
  • Remote I/O design of major DCS vendors
  • Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to designs

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 3-year diploma in electronics and telecommunications or instrumentation and control systems from an accredited college or university
  • Level 1: 7-11 years
  • Level 2: 12-15 years

Preferred Qualification:

  • FEED and EPC execution experience of large O&G/semi-conductor/Mining & Metal projects
