Job Title: Senior Software Architect

IBM is seeking a seasoned mainframe architect with strong background in mainframe technologies and at least 14 to 16 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mainframe-based applications critical to business operations hosted on Azure and Data Centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instantiate a new CICS region to support a new line of business for core applications.
  • Integration of the mainframe system with cloud platforms - this involves feeding real-time data from VSAM to cloud databases.
  • VSAM to RDBMS Migration - Migrate Mainframe system from VSAM to RDBMS.
  • Send Real-time Alerts to notification systems.
  • Setup Development LPAR.
  • Automate Mainframe Code Build Process.
  • Ensure the process includes Fortify scans.
  • Define the strategic roadmap for mainframe development ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and business needs.
  • Support translating client requirements into a technology solution with Cloud stack and offerings as the underlying theme driving Client value.
  • Ensure the continuous optimization and modernization of mainframe systems to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in mainframe architecture and system design.
  • Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as IBM zOS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and associated tools.
  • Experience with cloud integration and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools in a mainframe environment.
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with security protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
