Job Description
The role of the Financial Planning Associate may be broken down into four key areas:

A. Client File Management
Preparation and maintenance of client files – software entries are a significant responsibility. The associate will collect quantitative detailed information required to compile a financial plan, while the Financial Planner focuses on qualitative information such as client attitudes and life goals.

Specific activities include:
  • Ensuring all compliance paperwork is present
  • Confirming the client risk profile has been determined
  • Discussing client objectives with the planner
  • Identifying and obtaining necessary information for compiling financial cash flow forecasts
  • Compiling draft net worth statements, income and expenditure statements, and financial cash flow forecasts, then discussing them with the planner.

B. Recommendations Analysis
The associate will identify areas requiring planning, conduct research independently and with the Financial Planner, prepare comparisons for analysis, complete current and future net worth and cash flow projections based on recommendations, and draft recommendation reports to be reviewed and signed off by the planner.

C. Implementation
The associate will complete application/proposal forms, ensure all compliance paperwork is in order, make changes to clients' investments as instructed, and implement chosen investment strategies.

D. Review
The associate will organize future planning meetings with clients according to review periods, complete review packs in preparation for client meetings, and review investment portfolios, asset allocation, risk profiles, etc.

Key Skills
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience working with software like Xplan, AdviserLogic, Midwinter, Plutosoft, dealing with clients, and team handling (for Assistant Manager/Manager positions).

Qualifications
Applicants should hold an MBA Finance, MBA, M.Com, or CFP degree, with additional certifications in Market/Portfolio Management, Financial Planning, or Derivatives Analysis.

Experience
We seek candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in Australian Paraplanning (Associate/Senior Associate) or 4 to 8 years (Assistant Manager/Manager).
