Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement electrical design solutions for data center projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated data center solutions, including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers.
  • Provide technical expertise and solutions to clients, understanding their specific data center requirements.
  • Lead the design and optimization of electrical distribution systems for data centers, including power generation, UPS systems, and distribution networks.
  • Check and review electrical engineers' work for accuracy and quality, undertaking peer reviews.
  • Support fee and capital budget proposals as required.
  • Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue electrical packages in an efficient and lean manner.

Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor's/master's degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 15 years of experience, including 5 years in data center projects.
  • Site experience is an added advantage.

Desirable Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials.
  • Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of electrical engineering design services, including HV, MV, and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, vertical transportation, small power, voice / data, cable containment, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, earthing & bonding, hazardous areas, and specialist control systems.
  • Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of all applicable electrical engineering codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
  • Commercially aware and able to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies to provide cost-effective solutions for clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
  • Knowledge of project controls within the discipline.
