Leading Economist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled economist to fill a critical role in our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's in Economics, MBA, or CFA, with 2-4 years of experience as an Economic Analyst, Macro Strategist, or Junior Economist.

• The successful candidate will work closely with the investment strategy team, analyzing macroeconomic data, building econometric models, and monitoring global economic developments.
• They will be responsible for producing high-quality research commentary, working on macro and market projects, and handling ad hoc requests.

Key Responsibilities:

• To build and maintain sophisticated econometric models to forecast future trends and risks.
• Analyze historical and forecasted macroeconomic data to identify emerging economic trends and themes.
• Monitor and assess global economic developments and their potential impact on markets.
• To write and publish insightful research commentary to accompany data analysis and discuss market drivers.
• Work on macro and market projects relevant to the Indian market, conducting secondary research as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong quantitative and mathematical skills, with experience working with large datasets.
• Advanced Excel, VBA analytical skills, and knowledge of econometrics.
• A working knowledge of Python or R is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with database tools such as Macrobond, CEIC, World Bank, CME, and other financial databases.
