HSBC is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Business Analyst - Traded Risk Systems. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of our risk management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and capture functional and non-functional requirements for Traded Risk Systems long-term and short-term projects.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, users, and system developers to define data sources, data models, and detailed business requirements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of risk concepts, including Historical Simulation, Value-at-Risk (VaR), Stress VaR, and key regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement data flows and data models from Front to Back.
  • Develop proof-of-concept or prototypes to crystallise business rules, processes, and functions.
  • Review and manipulate trade, risk, and reference data to prepare test packs.
  • Provide input to test plans and testing strategies, as well as design discussions and project planning meetings.
  • Translate requirements into high-level epics and provide project managers with estimates for planning.
  • Involved in high-level design and documentation in Confluence, and logging all requirements in JIRA.
  • Involved in functional checks and validating results in UAT, as well as post-go-live period.
Requirements:
  • A disciplined approach to requirements analysis with a software engineering or computer science background.
  • Excellent understanding of derivative products, SWAP, interest rate derivatives, fx, credit, and/or equity businesses, risk concepts, and key regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in capturing, analysing, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience working within large/strategic and small/tactical projects.
  • Experience in prototyping or rapid application development or iterative development.
  • Experience in Excel, SQL, and Python.
  • Good understanding of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and an approach that emphasises the behaviour of an application for business needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work comfortably with detail.
  • Cultivates a collaborative and cooperative attitude.
  • Structured worker able to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
  • Takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution.
  • Good understanding of the Agile methodology and the ability to work with stakeholders to help them understand the benefits of Agile and how it can help their business.
  • Manage a team of experienced business analysts and ensure coaching and helping on their career development.
