Estimator Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join our team. As an experienced professional in the broadband, telecom, and outside plant industry, you will play a vital role in our initiatives.

Your passion for the industry and drive for excellence will be key to understanding customer requirements and developing accurate estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review RFP documents to gain comprehensive project insights, including scope, specifications, schedule, and customer objectives.
  • Develop tailored estimate and bid preparation templates for each project.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to build cost breakdowns, high-level schedules, risk registers, and resource plans for client submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project information and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and research to identify cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to present estimates, address inquiries, and provide recommendations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to improve estimating processes and accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in estimating within the broadband, telecom, or outside plant industry.
  • Expertise in Excel with complex spreadsheet development skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong passion for the industry and a drive for excellence.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with team members and clients.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial and/or industrial low voltage and/or fiber optic cabling project coordination and estimating.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
  • Compliance with safety procedures and risk management policies.
  • Experience preparing project budgets.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, trade practices, and equipment.
  • OSHA certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English.
