Job Title: Senior Product Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Product Designer to lead the development of innovative products from concept to full-scale manufacturing.

  • This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in mechanical design, product development, and team leadership.

About the Role:

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for driving the design process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless product integration. Your expertise in CAD tools, such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and CATIA, will be invaluable in developing high-quality designs.

  • You will work closely with electronics, materials, and compliance teams to optimize designs for suitability to manufacture, performance, and cost across diverse environmental conditions.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing complete sensor systems, including housings, gas flow architecture, simulation chambers, control units, and portable instruments.
  • Conducting simulations, tolerance analysis, and failure assessments.
  • Selecting materials and finishes compatible with gas sensing applications.
  • Supporting regulatory documentation (ATEX, IECEx, etc.).
  • Collaborating with suppliers and driving product rollout from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Supporting technical documentation, datasheets, application notes, user manuals, and other collateral creation.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in mechanical or product design.
  • Member of a Formula One Student Team.
  • Expertise in CAD tools: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA.
  • Experience with injection moulding and CNC-based metallic enclosures.
  • Experience of NPT, BSP, BSPT threads and machined fittings.
  • Experience of FDM/SLA additive manufacturing and CNC basics (laser/milling).
