Smart Home Software Engineer

Alexa is a ground-breaking personal assistant that re-invents the Smart Home. It enables control of the entire home with your voice, the simplest and most natural form of communication. As an SDE in Alexa smart home, you will have direct impact on the experience of millions of customers in their home environment.
Key Job Responsibilities- Develop highly scalable services to manage billions of smart devices connected to Alexa through the cloud.
- Work on Alexa skills, voice user interfaces, cloud services, and a rapidly-growing ecosystem of IoT devices.
- Help lay the foundation to move from directed device interactions to learned behaviors that span multiple devices throughout the home.
The Alexa Smart Home team is an organization of engineers committed to bringing innovative Smart Home experiences to Amazon customers. Your work will span voice user interfaces, cloud services, and a rapidly-growing ecosystem of IoT devices.
About the TeamThe Alexa Smart Home team focuses on making Alexa the user interface for the smart home. From simple voice commands to use cases spanning home security, home entertainment, and the home environment, we are evolving Alexa into an intelligent, indispensable companion.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
