Job Opportunity: Solar PV Design Lead

The ideal candidate will spearhead a multidisciplinary team of senior and junior design engineers to devise and execute electrical designs for solar PV and microgrid projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee detailed design of DC arrays, HT/LT AC systems, cable routing/sizing, inverter/transformer configurations, and cable loss analysis.
  • Lead the design of 220 kV substations, switchgears, protection schemes, and control logic.
  • Ensure adherence to IS/IEC standards across designs and guarantee safety and statutory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Approve single-line diagrams, plant layout plans, interconnection schematics, PLC/SCADA configurations, and BoQ documents.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for electrical hardware and collaborate with procurement teams during EPC phases.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, and QA teams during EPC and O&M phases.
  • Manage engineering schedules and monitor timelines to ensure design delivery aligns with project milestones.
  • Mentor team members in Auto CAD, PVSyst, PV*SOL, Solid Works, Helio Scope, or similar software.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7-9 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in solar PV/microgrids.
  • Technical proficiency in solar PV design tools (Auto CAD, PVSyst/PV*SOL, Helio Scope, Solid Works).
  • In-depth knowledge of IS/IEC electrical standards.
  • Strong grasp of protection systems, SCADA/PLC architecture.
  • BoQ/spec development and vendor evaluation skills.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
