About Our Taxation Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional to oversee all accounting, compliance, and tax-related functions.

The ideal candidate will bring 9+ years of experience, strong technical expertise in Indian and international taxation, and proven leadership in managing finance teams.

This role involves direct client engagement, advisory responsibilities, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Predictable Financial Outcomes: Prepare and review management reports, financial statements, and tax returns for clients including individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts, and superannuation funds.
  • Tax Compliance Management: Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure timely compliance.
  • Tax Advisory Services: Manage complex tax matters such as GST, CGT, FBT, and Division 7A compliance.
  • Strategic Business Planning: Deliver business advisory services, including management accounting, board reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and succession planning.
  • Tax Optimisation: Identify tax issues and opportunities, provide actionable strategies, and ensure continuous improvement year-on-year.
  • Tax Research and Technical Expertise: Conduct tax research, interpret legislation, and form well-supported opinions on technical issues.
  • Team Development: Mentor, guide, and manage junior accountants to deliver accurate and compliant outcomes.
  • Service Delivery: Oversee assignments independently and ensure high-level review for accuracy and compliance.
  • Client Relationship Building: Build strong client relationships by delivering high-quality service and strategic insights.
  • Resource Management: Groom resources, coach employees, and actively contribute to team development and firm growth.
  • Cross-Border Tax Compliance: Work with Australian clients and manage end-to-end service delivery for international compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or CMA are highly desirable.
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting are required.
  • Hands-on experience with GST, CGT, FBT, Division 7A, and business compliance matters is necessary.
  • Strong expertise in financial statement preparation, tax return filing, and management reporting is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are expected.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and cross-functional teams are required.
  • A high degree of accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail are expected.
  • Experience in team management, mentoring, and training is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Xero and Xero practice tools is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A proven ability to handle multiple assignments and adapt to diverse client requirements is required.
  • A proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and ability to take initiative is expected.
  • Experience managing a team for Australian clients is preferred.
