As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the investment portfolio of our clients. To register with SEBI as a Portfolio Manager, applicants must meet certain eligibility norms.

Eligibility Requirements
  • The applicant must be a corporate entity.
  • The applicant must have the necessary infrastructure in place, including office space, equipment, and personnel.
  • The applicant must appoint a compliance officer.
  • The principal officer of the applicant must possess a professional qualification in law, finance, accountancy, or business management, or have completed a CFA program.
  • The principal officer must have at least five years of experience in related activities in the securities market, including portfolio management, stock broking, investment advisory services, research analysis, or fund management.

At least two years of relevant experience must be in portfolio management or investment advisory services or in areas related to fund management.

  • The applicant must obtain NISM XXI-B certification.
    • In addition to the principal officer and compliance officer, the applicant must employ at least one person who is a graduate and has at least two years of experience in related activities in the securities market, including portfolio management, stockbroking, investment advisory services, research analysis, or fund management. If this person is a fund manager, they must meet the same qualification, experience, and certification requirements as the principal officer.
    • The applicant must meet the capital adequacy requirements, which include a minimum net worth of Rs. 5 crores.
    • The net worth calculation includes paid-up equity capital, free reserves (excluding revaluation reserves), accumulated losses, and deferred expenditure not written off (including miscellaneous expenses not written off).
    • The applicant must fulfill the capital adequacy requirements independently of any other activities undertaken by the applicant under relevant regulations.
    • The applicant, its directors, principal officers, compliance officers, or employees must not be involved in any litigation or convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude.
    • The applicant must be a fit and proper person, meeting the criteria outlined in Schedule II of the SEBI (Intermediaries) Regulations, 2008.
    • The grant of a certificate to the applicant must be in the interest of investors.
    • The applicant must submit an application form along with the prescribed fee. The fee structure includes:
    • Application fees: INR 1 lakh
    • Registration fees: INR 10 lakhs
    • Renewal fees: INR 5 lakhs every three years
