Job Title: Solar Power Plant Design Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled design specialist to lead our engineering activities for civil and structural aspects of solar power plants. The successful candidate will have experience in design aspects of solar power plants, power distribution projects, and be capable of reviewing and executing engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents
  • Ensure deliveries align with project schedule
  • Review drawings by design engineers and draughts persons, checking design and sizing calculations, and obtaining approvals from clients
  • Review vendor deliverables pertaining to engineering
  • Capable of multitasking and delivering multiple things on time
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements
  • Review bill of quantities (BOQ) and submit to contracts team, providing technical clarifications
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines for inter-departmental checks
  • Provide support and clarifications to site execution teams
  • Check pre-award evaluation of vendors regarding technical specifications and forward validation document to supply chain management
  • Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after submission of validation document
  • Clarify issues regarding design and requirements to site execution teams
  • Collect inputs for project details, such as soil report, boundary coordinates, and topo survey, from clients and section heads
  • Coordinate with operations teams and inform design specifications for obtaining approval
  • Collect inputs for project details, general arrangement drawings, from vendors
  • Provide support to electrical DC, AC, and instrumentation for reviewing vendor drawings
  • Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking and reviewing design and drawings of the project
  • Design deliverables include module mounting structure design, GA drawing, control room, inverter room civil and structural drawings and document, solar plant civil infrastructure drawings, and design

Requirements:

  • 8-20 years of experience in design aspects of solar power plants, power distribution projects
  • Technical expertise in engineering activities for civil and structural covering control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads, and drainage, outdoor steel structures, and miscellaneous works related to solar power plants
  • Able to review vendor engineering documents with respect to civil and structural design
