**Job Overview**

We are seeking an accomplished database professional with 6+ years of experience in data engineering and development.

About the Opportunity

This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and storage solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases. It also encompasses managing and optimizing relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL platforms (Cassandra, ScyllaDB, MongoDB, BigQuery).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design scalable, distributed, and highly available database systems for real-time and batch workloads.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate database deployments, migrations, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product engineers to ensure efficient access to data.
  • Optimize query performance, schema design, and indexing strategies.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, backup, recovery, and security across platforms.
  • Deploy and manage cloud-native data services on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues and resolve system bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL database design and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases: ScyllaDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, replication, sharding, and partitioning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud providers: AWS (RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift), GCP (BigQuery, Cloud SQL), Azure (Cosmos DB, SQL Database).
  • Strong knowledge of query optimization, schema modeling, and indexing.
  • Good scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar for automation.
